GATE was founded in Mai 1969 in New York as "GATE INTERNATIONAL Inc."
The main activities during this time were the import of consumer goods from Switzerland into the US.
In addition to that "GATE INTERNATIONAL Inc." took over licenses to produce sportswear of different American suppliers. This sportswear was sold by the subsidiary company "GATE EUROPE EST.", which is located in Vaduz, Liechtenstein.
The "GATE INTERNATIONAL Inc." in New York was given up in 1980 and "GATE EUROPE EST" was altered to "GATE AG" located in Vaduz, Liechtenstein which still exists today.

In the 90’s the "GATE AG" shifted their main activities from import of sportswear to the field of import and export of high tech equipment and machines.
Main business fields at that time were textile machines for fabric enhancement and anti corrosion equipment, which were of great demand in Eastern Europe at that time. The sales volume grew successively as spraying and blasting equipment were taken into the equipment business unit.
In 1998, the decaying Russian Ruble forced Gate AG to close their Office in Moscow. GATE AG added in 1996 another new busines unit into the existing portfolio. The sales of equipment to renew the top layers on streets was integrated and participates until today in this continuously growing market.


Starting January 2005, GATE AG expanded with the new business unit "Vacuum Technology". Consulting support for vacuum equipment are the core activities.
The Vacuum Technology of GATE AG consults in the below listed areas:
   • Equipment for coatings in the area of automotive and energy
   • Equipment for EB/PVD coating in the area of aero and industrial gas turbines
   • Equipment for large area coatings
   • Equipment for decorative coatings
   • Equipment for remelting furnaces

The excellent competence of our employees, based on many years of experiences in this business and the location "Liechtenstein", which is well known for vacuum products, will guarantee the high quality of all our services.
